The Filipino Catholic Club sponsored a Class on News Writing by Patrick Downes,an editor of Hawaii Catholic Herald on Tuesday April 27 at St. Elizabeth Church Hall from 6:30-8:00 pm. The parishioners from various Churches participated in this free lecture.
Patrick, who works as editor of the Hawaii Catholic Herald for 28 years, starts the class with the introduction and then proceeds to ask the participants the following questions: "Why do you want to send stories to the media?" And "what is news?" Those present also learn the basics of writing a news story.
